In I Will Teach You To Play Guitar, we offer articles, videos, courses, and assistance for those who wish to learn to play guitar.
Though it's not strictly needed, we collect some information on our visitors and clients to allow us to provide better services for them and future users, in addition to improve communications between both parties.
Information we collect
We collect information in two ways:

Email subscriptions to our newsletter.

Email additions to our waiting lists.
Our Email Subscription service is intended to be used as our primary tool for communicating with the users of the website. Most often we use it to notify of new content on the site (such as new articles or video lessons) but we also use it occasionally for sending other requests such as surveys. Usually we won't send more than one newsletter per week.
For this end, we require a valid email address that you own. Because we prefer to interact in a direct manner, we also ask for a first name to go with the email (it keeps everything as personal as possible). Although we would prefer your real name, you can give us any nickname, as long as it's not offensive in any way.
Our Waiting Lists are intended for those who are only interested to be notified of any news regarding a specific product or service we provide (such as our courses). For that manner, we keep our email lists separate from those subscribed to our newsletter.
Subscribing to our newsletter will not add you to any waiting list, and adding your email to a waiting list will not subscribe you to our newsletter. If you wish to access any of those, you need to do it on a case-by-case basis.
What we do with the information we collect
Our email lists are kept private from anyone else. We do not share our information with any other party, with the sole exception of metrics and statistics.
Occasionally, we send personal emails to some email addresses on our lists (both newsletter and waiting lists). In these cases, our intentions are generally meant for getting feedback and suggestions from our users that help us do our jobs better, but are never meant to bother the users in any way.
A couple of times per year we run cleanups on our email lists. This is meant to keep our lists fresh and remove users who are no longer interested in staying in touch or who otherwise are not receiving our emails on a consistent basis. For this end, we currently use NeverBounce.
We do not send spam in any of our emails, and we strive to keep our communications as valuable as possible. To assist in that, we will appreciate to have our emails white-listed to make sure they reach you (and stay away from your spam folder).
What you can do is you want to change your situation
If you are subscribed to our newsletter and wish to unsubscribe, you can use the link on any of our emails for that matter, which is included in all our newsletters.
